Cylaris is a product that claims to be one of the most advanced weight loss systems ever developed. The literature claims that it is backed by a clinical study. What is interesting is that the study it is referring to was done on a formulation. Now whether Cylaris has the same composition as the said formulation, is not clearly established. Naturally, if it doesn’t. Cylaris would yield results that are different from those in the study.

Cylaris is one more product in the market that targets these very people. Of course the company promoting Cylaris has many glittering promises and claims about the product. There is even mention of a clinical study that validates the effectiveness of the product which somehow solidifies their claims.

Is This Product Really That Good?

Let us take a closer look at the clinical study being referred in the product literature. The study was conducted at the University of Yaounde in Cameroon. The formulation used had the following ingredients: Green tea, Chromium Soy extract, Cissus Quadrangularis, Selenium Caffeine, Vitamin B, and Folic acid.

The results of the study show that the formulation used suggest positive results on health problems such as excessive weight and high serum lipids.

In the study the formulation effected weight loss and improved cardiovascular risk factors. It seemed to have helped normalize high blood sugar levels and caused higher serum lipids to exhibit a tendency to be corrected.

It is difficult to suggest that Cissus Quadrangularis is the weight loss ingredient in the formula.

The credibility of the study is put into question because its lead author has a patent on Cissus Quadrangularis as a fat loss agent. Clearly we can see a conflict of interest as far as the objectives of the study is concerned.

The main ingredient of Cylaris is Cissus Quadrangularis or Veld Grape. This plant is indigenous to India where it has been used in traditional medicine for centuries.

According to recent scientific studies, Cissus Quadrangularis can be useful in the healing of bones and repair of fractures. As far as its being an effective weight loss agent is concerned, there are no supporting studies available. The study done in Cameroon suggests the usefulness of Cissus Quadrangularis as a weight loss agent. However, since it was done on a formulation, Cissus Octangularis cannot be categorically identified as the ingredient that caused the reduction in weight.

If the formulation used in Cylaris is similar to the one used in the study, then it may be said that Cylaris can help reduce weight based on the results of the experiment. Now, if the two formulations are different from each other, then the effectiveness of Cylaris will have to remain in doubt.

One or two studies are not enough to say that a product or an ingredient is a forerunner in its class.
